HomeFlow

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 3 September 2026

HomeFlow is a private household finance application designed for a small number of personally known users. It is not an advertising service, data broker, or public financial service.

What HomeFlow stores

HomeFlow may store household finance information such as account names, balances, transactions, budgets, bills, savings goals and related settings. The app is designed to keep a complete local copy on the user's device so it can continue working offline.

Google account and Google Drive access

HomeFlow uses Google sign-in only to identify the user and to allow the app to access the limited Google Drive files needed for HomeFlow synchronisation. HomeFlow requests the narrowest practical Google Drive permission and does not intentionally browse or read unrelated Drive files.

HomeFlow uses Google Drive as a transport and backup location for HomeFlow synchronisation data shared between authorised household members.

Encryption

HomeFlow is designed to encrypt shared household synchronisation data on the user's device before it is uploaded to Google Drive. The encrypted data is decrypted locally by authorised HomeFlow installations using the household recovery key.

Bank statements

If a user imports a supported bank statement, HomeFlow is designed to process that file locally on the device. The original statement is not intended to be sent to an external AI service or third-party statement-parsing service. Structured transaction data approved by the user may become part of the HomeFlow household data.

What HomeFlow does not do

Sharing

Household data is shared only with the Google accounts that the household owner explicitly authorises for the HomeFlow household. Google may process data as required to provide Google Drive and sign-in services under Google's own terms and privacy policies.

Data removal

Users can remove HomeFlow's access to their Google Account from their Google Account security settings. HomeFlow data stored locally can be cleared from the device, and HomeFlow files stored in Google Drive can be deleted by the authorised users.

Security and recovery

Users are responsible for keeping their HomeFlow recovery phrase secure. A lost recovery phrase may prevent encrypted household data from being recovered.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as HomeFlow moves from technical testing to normal household use. Material changes will be reflected on this page before new functionality is relied upon.
